INCREASINGLY MORE SUSTAINABLE HEAT

Lots of cubic metres of hot air are needed to heat a home: the smaller the duct, the less air it conveys. It’s important not to be deceived by fast air feeling like more air.

We have performed some tests in which we introduced the same quantity of hot air into two distribution systems: one with a 6-cm diameter duct and one with an 8-cm one. The results confirmed what we already knew: although the air travelling through the duct with the smallest cross-section was slightly faster and therefore “perceived” as being more, the actual quantity of air conveyed was definitely greater using the tube with the largest cross-section. That’s why we only use tubes with a minimum 8-cm cross-section on our ducted stoves.
